New Delhi, : The Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM), Ministry of Ayush, Government of India observed Vigilance Awareness Week during October 26–November 01, 2021 at its headquarters as well as all peripheral institutes. Themed on “Independent India @ 75: Self Reliance with Integrity”, the week was observed as an effort to celebrate 75 years of the Independence of India by securing the integrity and togetherness in the life of general public to pave the way for the new age of self-reliant India.
The campaign sought to create awareness among the employees as well as general public to check corruption and promote integrity at every level. The Vigilance Awareness Week at the CCRUM commenced with integrity pledge administered by Prof. Asim Ali Khan, Director General, CCRUM to all the officials and staff of CCRUM headquarters following Covid-19 guidelines. All the officials pledged to promote ethical business practices and foster a culture of honesty and integrity. They further pledged to commit to good corporate governance based on transparency, accountability and fairness. They declared that they would neither take nor offer bribe and report any incident of corruption to the appropriate agency.
During the week, various activities related to the main theme were organized under the supervision of Dr. Naheed Parveen, Assistant Director (Unani) and Chief Vigilance Officer, CCRUM. The activities included webinar, debate and essay writing competitions. The participants of the competitions were felicitated with prizes and certificates
