Development of innovation eco-system need of the hour: Prof. Khan

New Delhi,: The Ministry of Ayush, its research councils, state departments and other Ayush stakeholders have been proactively working to create a fostering environment for promotion of growth, investment, employment, and ease of doing business in the Ayush sector, said Prof. Asim Ali Khan, Director General, Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM) in his opening address in Plenary Session-2 on “Technology and Innovation in Ayush Sector” in Global Ayush Investment and Innovation Summit organized by the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India and Government of Gujarat during the April 20-22, 2022 in Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

Prof. Khan further said that the Ministry of Ayush as well as other Ayush related organisations have been taking steps to promote and utilise technology and digitisation in the sector. Indian policy approach to the Ayush sector has always encouraged research and innovation in the area and the research councils have been developing innovative drugs.

He further said that India has been encouraging application of science and technology in Ayush systems and informed that multiple innovations accelerated by the Covid-19 pandemic have been launched in the past few months. He underscored the need to develop an innovation eco-system and adopt a scientific perspective while analysing Ayush principles and encourage linkages between research, academics and practice.

The session was chaired by Dr. Munjpara Mahendrabhai Kalubhai, Hon’ble Minister of State, Ministry of Ayush and Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India.
