New Delhi: The Government of India under the dynamic leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi Saheb has accorded high priority to the multifaceted development of Ayush systems and has been extending unprecedented support and patronage for expanding their existing infrastructure and network, said Prof. Asim Ali Khan, Director General, Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM). He was addressing the inaugural function of the national workshop on ‘Competency Development of Ayush Professionals’ as the chief guest.
Inaugurating the workshop on July 27, Prof. Khan further said that Ayush systems are gaining popularity and acceptance across the globe which is underlining the need for highly skilled and competent Ayush professionals capable to maintain highest standards and quality of healthcare delivery.

Afshar Alam, Vice Chancellor, Jamia Hamdard, S Saud Akhtar, Registrar, Jamia Hamdard, Dr. Mukhtar A Qasmi, Advisor (Unani), Ministry of Ayush, Dr. S R K Vidyarthi, Ministry of Ayush, Prof. Abdul Wadud, Director, National Institute of Unani Medicine, Bengaluru, Prof. S M Arif Zaidi, Jamia Hamdard and Dr. Sayeed Ahmad, Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi graced the occasion.
The first workshop on its theme by Centre of Excellence in Unani Medicine (Pharmacognosy and Pharmacology), Bioactive Natural Product Laboratory, School of Pharmaceutical Education & Research, Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi aims at improving the skills and competency of Ayush professionals.
The experts provided training on project writing, manuscript writing, clinical protocol designing, Intellectual Property Rights, etc. in different sessions of the workshop. About 60 Ayush professionals including researchers from the CCRUM participated in the program.
