Unani Medicine stands stronger at national level today: Prof. Khan

New Delhi, : Global pandemic has brought Indian Systems of medicine to a world stage. Rapid rise in the demand for the immunity boosting supplements providing inner strength to the body and bolstering the immune system from within has given a boost to the Indian indigenous medical system including Unani Medicine, said Prof. Asim Ali Khan, Director General, Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM), Ministry of Ayush, Government of India. He was addressing a webinar on ‘Global Prospects of Unani Medicine’ organised by the Ayush Committee of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry on August 31 as the chief guest. Prof. Khan further said that global prospects of any system are based on its national standing and the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India has given highest priority to the promotion and development of Unani Medicine and other indigenous systems of medicine due to which Unani Medicine today stands stronger at national level.

Vaidya Devendra Triguna, President, All India Ayurvedic Congress and Ayurveda Mahasammelan and Dr. M. A. Qasmi, Adviser (Unani), Ministry of Ayush, Government of India delivered special address while Dr. Ghazala Javed, Incharge, Drug Standardisation Research Unit, CCRUM, New Delhi and Dr. Mohammad Khalid, Assistant Drug Controller (Unani), Directorate of Ayush, Government of NCT of Delhi were eminent speakers of the webinar.
