New Delhi/ Ghaziabad: Prof. Asim Ali Khan, Director General, Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM), Ministry of Ayush, Government of India inaugurated a new microbiology laboratory at the CCRUM’s Drug Standardization Research Institute (DSRI), Ghaziabad.
The laboratory has been established with sophisticated and state-of-the-art instruments for conducting microbial studies of Ayurveda, Siddha and Unani (ASU) drug samples. The laboratory shall be used for in-house research and standardization of single and compound forms of ASU drugs. The facility may also be availed by ASU industry as well as other government and private organizations engaged in research and development of medicines.
On this occasion, Prof. Khan visited all the sections and laboratories of the institute and took a detailed review of their functioning. He also saw live demonstration of all the instruments and appreciated the facility. He was briefed about the ongoing research projects by Dr. Asma Sattar, Incharge, DSRI and Dr. R P Meena, Nodel Officer-DSRI at the CCRUM headquarters.
Prof. Khan also interacted with the research personnel and staff of the institute and encouraged them to work with dedication for the furtherance of research and development of Unani Medicine thereby benefiting the mankind.
