New Delhi/ Silchar: Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways & Ministry of Ayush, Government of India will inaugurate the Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine (RRIUM), Silchar on November 20, 2022 at Veterinary Bazar, Ghungoor, Silchar, Assam.
Shri Parimal Suklabaidya, Hon’ble Minister of Transport, Fisheries and Excise, Government of Assam, Dr. Rajdeep Roy, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Silchar, Shri Kripanath Mallah, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Karimganj, Shri Pramod Kumar Pathak, Special Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, Government of India and Prof. Asim Ali Khan, Director General, Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM), Ministry of Ayush, Government of India will also grace the occasion.
Prof. Asim Ali Khan informed that the RRIUM, Silchar has been set up as a premier institute of research and development in Unani Medicine in the North Eastern Region. He further informed that the institute with a 50-bedded hospital has been constructed with a cost of around Rs. 45 crore. Besides research and development activities, it will cater to the health care needs of the people through OPD and IPD facility.
