Prayagraj,Valedictory function of 211 Army Pilot Course( Helicopters) and 211 Indian Coast Guard Stage II Pilot Course( Helicopters) was held at Basic Flying Training School(BFTS) Air Force Station Bamrauli, Prayagraj on 01 Jun 2023. Air Commodore GKJ Reddy VSM, Chief Flying Training Officer (CFTO) HQ Training command, Indian Air Force was the reviewing officer for the valedictory function. He was received by Wing Commander Abhimanyu Singh, Commanding Officer of Basic Flying Training School, AF. The RO presented certificates to the graduating officers and trophies to those who excelled during the course of training. 211 Army Pilot Course ( Helicopters), Lt Shubham stood first in ground subjects, Capt Ashutosh was awarded the trophy for first in flying and Capt Prasad won the trophy for best in overall merit. 211 Indian Coast Guard Stage II Pilot Course Asst Comdt Nishchay stood first in ground subjects, Dy Comdt Sumeet was awarded the first in flying and Asst Comdt Nishchay won the trophy for best in overall order of merit.
While addressing the gathering, Air Officer congratulated the officers and asked them to keep themselves updated with the requirements and nature of future warfare. He praised BFTS for its rich traditions of transforming young officers into skilled aviators and instilling professionalism and excellence in the young aviators abiding by the institutions’ motto “SETTING STANDARDS”.
Basic Flying Training school is a premier flying training establishment of the Indian Air Force located at Prayagraj. It was established on 09 Oct 1987 to impart ab-initio training to pilots on HPT-32 aircraft. On 05 Jul 1999 the school changed its role from training Flight Cadets of the Indian Air Force to training the officers of the Indian Army, Navy and Coast Guard. The school was re-equipped with Chetak helicopters on 26 Dec 2005 for imparting ab-initio flying training to Army officers on helicopters.
