Agra. Preparations for the fifteenth edition of Meet at Agra, called the Mahakumbh of the footwear trade, have been finalized. What will be special in this grand event, how many countries will participate, answers to all such questions were revealed in the press conference held at Hotel Holiday Inn on Saturday. The three-day Fair Meet at Agra, being organized by the Footwear Manufacturers and Exporters Chamber (AFMEC) at the Agra Trade Center in Singana, will run from October 27th to October 29th.
Giving information about the event, AFMEC President Puran Dawar said that in its journey of one and a half decade, this event has created its own unique identity not only in the country but also in the world. More than 30 countries and around 200 exhibitors are participating in the event this year.
India is a growing economy of the world, especially the shoe industry of Agra is playing an important role in giving it momentum. Such events prove to be helpful in strengthening the economy. He also said that today we stand as a strong alternative to China, it is India’s turn, big companies like Tata, Reliance, Walmart and Future Group have completely stopped importing from China, now they are dependent on Indian products. This is why we have achieved continuous growth in the domestic market.

Organizing Committee Chairman Gopal Gupta said that it is a matter of pride for Agra that Meet at Agra has made its place in the World Footwear Calendar. People all over the world eagerly wait for it.
AFMEC Secretary General Rajiv wasan said the fair will also have technical sessions in which experts will deliver lectures on various topics, including design trends, manufacturing techniques, marketing strategies.

Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and Textiles, Government of India, will be the chief guest at the three-day fair. Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Prof. SP Singh Baghel and State Government Cabinet Ministers Baby Rani Maurya and Yogendra Upadhyay, MP Rajkumar Chahar will attend as special guests.
