OFFICERS TRAINING ACADEMY, GAYA HOLDS ITS 24th PASSING OUT PARADE ON 09 DEC 2023

Prayagraj,  The Officers Training Academy, Gaya wore a traditional military look on the occasion of 24th Passing Out Parade of 101 officers of the Technical Entry Scheme (TES)-42 including seven officers from Friendly Foreign Countries and 27 officers of Special Commissioned Officers Course (SCO)-51. 90 Officer Cadets of TES-48 Course also participated in the parade and who will now proceed to various Army Cadet Training Wings to pursue a degree in Engineering at Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering, Secunderabad, Military College of Telecommunication Engineering, Mhow and College of Military Engineering, Pune. The Officer Cadets enthralled everyone with their smart turnout and precisely synchronised drill movements.

Admiral R Hari Kumar PVSM, AVSM, VSM, ADC, Chief of the Naval Staff was the Reviewing Officer on this solemn occasion. The highly decorated, experienced and accomplished Admiral Officer is an alumnus of 61st Course, National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, Pune.

The coveted Sword of Honour for the best All Round Officer Cadet as well as the Gold Medal for standing first in the Order of Merit amongst the Passing Out Technical Entry Scheme Course was awarded to Officer Cadet Saatvik Sheopuri. Gurez Company was awarded the Chief of Army Staff Banner for Autumn Term 2023 for Best Overall Performance as a Company.

Addressing the parade, The Reviewing Officer, Admiral R Hari Kumar congratulated the Officer Cadets for their excellent drill. He urged the future officers to make their Nation and their Alma Mater proud by rendering selfless, dedicated and professional service. He emphasised the importance of being scholar warriors, spearheading innovative responses to myriad challenges on the battlefield so as to outthink and outperform the adversaries. He also exhorted the Passing Out Course to condition themselves and the soldiers under their command to the rapidly changing dynamics of combat by increasing their technical prowess.

Congratulating the proud parents who were witnessing the Parade, Admiral R Hari Kumar said that they were amongst the lucky few whose sons will get the opportunity to serve in the Armed Forces which stand amongst the best in the world.

The Academy has been rendering quality military training to Officer Cadets from Friendly Foreign Countries that is from Bhutan and Vietnam, amongst others, to be successful military leaders of their respective national Armies. The bonhomie with fellow Officer Cadets at the Academy will go a long way in generating goodwill between the nations.

Officers Training Academy, Gaya was raised on 18 July 2011 with the motto of ‘Shaurya Gyan Sankalp’ (Courage, Knowledge and Resolve). Presently, the Academy conducts training for Technical Entry Scheme (TES) and Special Commissioned Officer (SCO) entries. The Officer Cadets of TES course joins the Academy after completing their 10+2 exams with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as their subjects and after having qualified in JEE (Mains). The next tentative window to apply for Technical Entry Scheme (TES) will commence in Jan 2024. The SCO Gentlemen Cadets are selected from the ranks of the Indian Army.
