Kuala Lumpur, – The serene city of Kuala Lumpur played host to over 2,000 religious leaders and scholars from 57 countries, including prominent Indian spiritual leaders such as Haji Syed Salman Chishty Gaddi Nashin, Dargah Ajmer Sharif, Chairman of Chishty Foundation, along with Padma Shree Sadguru Brahmeshanand Acharya Swami and Shri Dr GD Singh – Author & World Peace Advocate. The gathering, co-organized by the Muslim World League (MWL) and the Malaysian government, aimed to foster understanding, affinity, and cooperation among diverse religious communities globally.
The conference was inaugurated by the Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Muslim World League Secretary-General Sheikh Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa from Saudi Arabia, who had also recently visited India and had an important meeting with Hon’able Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi in New Delhi and had stressed on the Islamic component in India which is proud of its patriotism and its affiliation with Unity in Diversity of India, emphasising the need for religious awareness to promote understanding, coexistence and cooperation.
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar bin Ibrahim emphasized the significance of such gatherings in promoting peace and justice, urging religious leaders to play an active and courageous role in guiding governance with moral and ethical values.
In his keynote remarks Shaikh Muhammed al Issa, Secretary General – World Muslim League, Saudi Arabia highlighted the International Religious Leaders conference’s mission to translate dialogue into tangible actions, fostering friendship and cooperation among nations and peoples worldwide.
During the conference, Haji Syed Salman Chishty underscored India’s strength in unity amidst diversity, drawing inspiration from the teachings of Khawaja Syed Moinudeen Hasan Chishty Gharib Nawaaz(r) of Ajmer Sharif and the Chishty philosophy in sync with India’s spiritual ethos of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (The Whole world is one Family) as well as universal Islamic Spiritual traditions of unconditional love and service to all. He exemplified the spirit of harmony at the Ajmer Dargah Sharif, a revered site visited by followers of all faiths, symbolizing Sun like grace, River like generosity, and Earth like hospitality.
Also, Haji Syed Salman Chishty while addressing the august gathering in the presence of Hon’able Prime Minister of Malaysia and global Religious Leaders emphasised on the importance of holistic approach in global governance and the world leaders, head of states, rulers of nations should be the catalyst for the transmission of Justice, Peace, Unity and Harmony among our Human Fraternity. Haji Chishty amplified India’s keenness in confronting extremist ideas, specifically the dangers of cultural, civilisation and religious clashes.
Prime Minister Anwar ben Ibrahim emphasized Malaysia’s commitment to promoting the understanding of Islam’s message of peace and mercy to all creations, reflecting the ethos of rahmatan lil alamin.
The International Conference of Religious Leaders served as a platform for intellectual exchange and collaboration, addressing global challenges while celebrating the richness of religious diversity. Through dialogue and cooperation, participants expressed their collective commitment to building a more peaceful and harmonious world.
