LAC Expands its Global Footprint with the Appointment of Adv. K G Anilkumar as Goodwill Ambassador

New Delhi. The Latin American Caribbean Trade Council (LACTC) announces the appointment of Mr. K. G Anilkumar as the Goodwill Ambassador for the Latin American Caribbean (LAC) region. This appointment highlights ICL Fincorp’s ongoing efforts to strengthen trade and tourism ties between India, the Middle East, and the LAC region. LACTC was established in 2016 and it was inaugurated by the then Joint Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs for the LAC region. The relationship between India and the LAC region has untapped potential and faces several challenges. Despite shared historical and cultural ties, trade and tourism exchanges have not reached their full capacity. Language barriers, geographical distances, and varying regulatory frameworks are some of the significant obstacles. Additionally, limited direct flight connectivity and a lack of awareness about each other’s markets have further hindered this relationship.
The appointment of Mr. K. G Anilkumar as the Goodwill Ambassador marks a significant advancement in these initiatives. Mr. K. G Anil Kumar, CMD of ICL Fincorp, a prominent figure in the finance and tourism sectors, has been instrumental in fostering international collaborations and enhancing India’s global goodwill. His efforts in strengthening relations with Cuba have laid a solid foundation for expanding engagement with the entire LAC region. Additionally, he will work to bring LAC countries closer together through the United Arab Emirates (UAE). With a substantial number of Indian businesses in the UAE eager to expand their trade, Mr. K. G Anil Kumar’s offices in the UAE will serve as a crucial hub. This platform will enable Indian companies to supply their products to the LAC region, while Latin American countries like Chile and Peru, which supply water to the UAE, will benefit from these enhanced connections. Dr. Asif Iqbal, President of LACTC, has been instrumental in addressing these issues. Under his leadership, the Council has been working diligently to bridge these gaps through targeted initiatives and strategic partnerships. The Government of India has recognized Mr. K. G Anilkumar’s efforts presented by the LACTC Council, which have also been warmly received by several LAC governments, including Cuba.
In his new role, Mr. K.G Anilkumar will focus on several key areas to enhance trade and tourism between India, the Middle East, and the 33 Latin American countries includes Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama, Belize, Haiti, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Bahamas, Barbados, St. Lucia, Grenada, St. Vincent & Grenadines, Antigua & Barbuda, Dominica, St. Kitts & Nevis, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Venezuela, Chile, Ecuador, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Suriname, and Guyana. Other dependencies and territories such as French Guyana and Puerto Rico are also the part of Latin America. He will work on creating new business opportunities and strengthening existing trade relationships. By leveraging his extensive network and deep understanding of market dynamics, Mr. K. G Anilkumar aims to facilitate partnerships that bring tangible benefits to all parties involved.
Tourism promotion will be a significant part of Mr. K. G Anilkumar’s agenda. Recognizing the immense potential for tourism growth, he will spearhead initiatives to attract tourists by highlighting the unique cultural, historical, and natural attractions of the LAC region. His plans include marketing campaigns, participation in tourism fairs, and forming strategic alliances with travel industry stakeholders. Cultural exchange will also be a cornerstone of Mr. K. G Anilkumar’s approach. By promoting cultural interactions and understanding, he aims to build stronger ties between the diverse populations of these regions. This cultural diplomacy is expected to foster goodwill and pave the way for more robust economic and social connections with the countries.
Dr Iqbal added, “We are thrilled to see Mr. K. G Anilkumar take on this vital role. His extensive experience and proven leadership will be invaluable as we work to overcome the challenges and realize the full potential of our relationships with the LAC region.
