Indresh Kumar, Chief Patron of the Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) and National Executive Member of the RSS, highlighted the importance of a Secular Civil Code (Uniform Civil Code – UCC) during his speech at the Raksha Bandhan program held at the Constitution Club in New Delhi. Kumar emphasized that the UCC is crucial for the unity and integrity of the country, asserting that its implementation would foster goodwill and equality in society. He also voiced his concerns regarding recent incidents in Bangladesh and Kolkata, and reaffirmed his commitment to reclaiming Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (POJK) as an integral part of India. His remarks are expected to significantly influence Indian politics and society.
*Advocacy for a Secular Civil Code:*
Indresh Kumar endorsed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for a Secular Civil Code (Uniform Civil Code – UCC) made from the Red Fort on Independence Day. Kumar stressed that the UCC is necessary for national unity and integrity, arguing that it would eliminate discrimination stemming from diverse personal laws and provide a fair and equitable system for all citizens, particularly benefiting women and marginalized groups.
*Concerns Over Bangladesh and Kolkata Incidents:*
Kumar expressed deep concern over human rights violations against minority communities in Bangladesh and called for international intervention. He criticized Indian leaders, particularly Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav, for their lack of decisive action on these issues.
Regarding the recent attack on a doctor in Kolkata, Kumar condemned Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her perceived insensitivity and responsibility for the violence occurring under her administration.
*Commitment to Reclaim POJK and National Resolve:*
During Raksha Bandhan, Kumar reaffirmed the resolve to reclaim Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (POJK) as an integral part of India. He condemned the terrorism sponsored by Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir and stressed the need for decisive action. Kumar also declared Kailash Mansarovar as part of India and expressed the intention to secure its return.

During the event, numerous women tied Rakhi to Indresh Kumar, who honored them with gifts. The gathering included National Convenor Shahid Akhtar, Shalini Ali, Shahid Saeed, Delhi State Convenor Haji Sabreen, Co-Convenor Khurshid Razaka, Imran Chaudhary, Shahnaz Afzal, and over 500 other women from the women’s wing, among many other notable attendees.
