Agra | The Khateeb of Masjid Neharwali, Muhammad Iqbal, addressed the congregation in today’s Friday sermon, saying that when anything reaches its peak, it then declines, and sometimes the end of revenge leads to a phase of regret and admission. This is what happened towards the end of the Abbasid era, when the Taataari tribes emerged from the mountainous regions, filled with vengeful anger against the Muslims. They killed countless people from Samarkand to Baghdad, demolished mosques, and devastated Muslim populations. Once the Taataaris had done all of this, their vengeful spirit began to cool. Upon seeing the ruins of Muslim communities, they started feeling ashamed, and gradually they were drawn to the beliefs of Islam. Slowly, many Taataaris embraced Islam. It seems like history is about to repeat itself in India. The intensity of revenge against Muslims here is not permanent. Once it reaches a limit, this anger will turn into a phase of regret and acceptance. After that, as you understand from the example of the Taataaris, those who appear to be enemies of Islam will become its friends, InShaAllah. The intensity of revenge suggests that the day is not far. We just need to avoid any actions that create hatred between us and non-Muslims and when the opportunity arises, present the message of Islam to them in a simple manner. This is the way of a preacher. Denial of Islam is self-denial, and who can deny themselves ? We must understand this and make others understand it too.
May Allah grant us the ability to do this. Aameen.
