Air Marshal RGK Kapoor relinquished command of Central Air Command on 31 Aug 2024 after rendering 38 years of glorious service to the nation.
Prayagraj,Air Marshal RGK Kapoor was commissioned in the Fighter stream of Indian Air Force on 07 Jun 1986. The Air Officer is a Cat ‘A’ Qualified Flying Instructor with a flying experience of more than 5000 hours on a variety of fighter and trainer aircraft in the inventory of IAF. He is an alumnus of Defence Services Staff College, Wellington and College of Air Warfare.
During his illustrious career, the Air Marshal held many important field and staff appointments at Operational Commands, Joint Training Establishments and Air Headquarters. He was the Assistant Chief of the Air Staff Operations (Space) and the Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Intelligence) at Air Headquarters. The Air Marshal was India’s Defence and Air Attaché at the Embassy of India in Washington DC, USA. Prior to taking over the appointment of Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, he was the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Strategic Forces Command.
During his career, in recognition of his illustrious service to the nation, the Air Marshal was awarded with the Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM), Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) and Vayu Sena Medal (VM).
