Railways will earn Rs 12 lakh from the contract of electric vehicle charging
Agra. The Agra Railway Division, which is committed to providing better service to the passengers, is continuously making best efforts due to which the railway revenue is also increasing. Under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Agra Tej Prakash Agarwal and the direction of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Agra Amit Anand, the facility of charging electric vehicles at Agra Cantonment Station in Agra Division in North Central Railway will be started in December. Railways is continuously making big efforts to reduce pollution and carbon emissions. Railways is trying to promote clean air and environment through ‘Green Initiative’. These charging points will work 24×7 and 365 days. This will also promote e-mobility. People can get their vehicles charged even at night. Efforts are being made by the Railways to promote charging facilities under the non-fare revenue scheme. A new initiative is being taken by the Commerce Department in earning income through non-fare revenue, in which contract for electric vehicle charging has been awarded through e-auction.
In which the Railways will get a revenue of Rs 4 lakh per year and Rs 12 lakh for 3 years from the Electric Vehicle (EV) charging station in the circulating area of Agra Cantt.
Under this facility, battery vehicles of the general public can be charged at reasonable rates as per their requirement. This will not only provide a convenient charging solution to the battery vehicle owners but will also help in reducing environmental pollution. The biggest benefit of setting up charging points will be to those drivers who often come near the Agra Cantonment Railway Station.
