Shahnawaz Alam: Government wants to hide the truth of Sambhal by making a BJP supporter a member of the inquiry commission

Question raised on making former IPS officer Arvind Jain, who praised the government in TV debates, a member

Lucknow. Congress national secretary Shahnawaz Alam has alleged that to hide the truth of Sambhal, the state government has made its worker a member of the inquiry commission. This proves that the violence in Sambhal was planned by the state government and BJP

Shahnawaz Alam said in a statement that the presence of retired IPS officer Arvind Kumar Jain in the inquiry commission formed by the governor exposes the formation of the commission. Because Arvind Jain is known for presenting illogical arguments in favor of the Yogi government every evening in TV debates. After retiring from the post of DGP in 2015, he had said in Meerut that he would join the BJP and contest the 2017 assembly elections. But he could not get a ticket. Since then, to please the Yogi government, he justifies every wrongdoing of the government in TV debates every day.

Shahnawaz Alam said that how can one expect an unbiased investigation report from someone who defends the communal and anti-Muslim attitude of the government?

He said that the investigation commission should have brought these facts within the ambit of the investigation that how did a crowd shouting anti-Muslim slogans gather so early in the morning in the presence of the police along with the survey team and how did the police allow that violent crowd to go with the survey team? Was all this done in a planned manner with the cooperation of SP, SO, CO and SDM under a conspiracy?

Shahnawaz Alam said that Arvind Kumar Jain has been kept in the commission to hide these facts and the role of the police has been kept out of the ambit of the investigation. He said that the criminal role of the police in this violence is evident from the fact that it is trying to fabricate this ridiculous theory that people died in the firing between two groups for control of the mosque.

Shahnawaz Alam said that when nothing was found inside the historic Jama Masjid that could provoke the majority community, then as a part of strategy, a statement is being made by the ASI that the mosque committee is making illegal constructions in the mosque and changing the structure, for which it had lodged an FIR against 13 people of the committee in 2018. Whereas the truth is that the mosque had no gate and the committee had installed an iron gate. By calling it illegal construction, the ASI is trying to create a narrative in favor of the government.
