To maintain harmony and peace in the country, the Supreme Court needs to take suo motu cognizance: Salman Miya

Bareilly. After the petition demanding a survey of Ajmer Sharif Dargah was accepted in the lower court, a communal atmosphere has been created in the country. Due to which the Ulema of Bareilly Markaz are very angry and furious. If such decisions are not stopped, there will be protests across the country.

Jamaat Raza-e-Mustafa National Vice President Salman Hasan Khan (Salman Miya) said that the Ajmer Sharif Dargah is the Mazar Sharif of Sufi Saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti. He is also called Garib Nawaz, on the Urs of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, lakhs of people reach his Dargah. Thousands of people from not only India but also from all over the world come here to pay their respects. Recently, the Civil Court of Ajmer Sharif has tried its best to spoil the atmosphere of the country by accepting the petition and approving the survey of the Dargah. He said that the Dargah has been here for the last 800 years. On the occasion of Urs, all the Prime Ministers of India send chaadar to the dargah.

Salman Mian said that why so much hatred is being spread regarding mosques and dargahs. What are the lower courts doing? Do they want to create riots in the country? Why are the lower courts not following the Places of Worship Act 1991? Where are we taking the country? The Places of Worship Act 1951 says that the religious character of any place of worship should remain the same as it was on 15 August 1947. He said that this matter will only increase the controversy and claimed that the violence in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh is also a direct result of such decisions.

He said that in view of the recent controversies related to the Sambhal Jama Masjid and Ajmer Dargah along with the Jama Masjid of Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh, a petition has been filed in the Supreme Court, demanding a stay on the survey orders issued by the courts against religious structures in violation of the Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act 1991. That such lawsuits are prohibited under the Places of Worship Act, which mandates that the status quo that existed on August 15, 1947, must be maintained for religious structures

He said that we appeal to the Supreme Court to immediately stop such decisions to maintain harmony, peace and goodwill in the country so that a new controversy does not arise every day and also appealed to the people that they should try to take the country on the path of progress and contribute to moving the country towards progress.
