Nasha Nahi, Naukri Do”: Indian Youth Congress under the leadership of IYC President Shri Uday Bhanu Chib launched the Statewide Campaign in Uttarakhand.

Unemployment is at its peak in our nation. It’s at a 35 year high. Uttrakhand is also facing the same issue. Drug abuse is a big menace in Uttarakhand and all over India: Uday Bhanu Chib.

Dehradun: The Indian Youth Congress (IYC), led by its national president Shri Uday Bhanu Chib, launched the “Nasha Nahi, Naukri Do” program in Uttarakhand with a powerful event “Sachivalay Gherao” at Rangers Ground, Dehradun. The campaign launch was aimed to address the dual challenges of unemployment and drug addiction, which have deeply affected the youth of the region.

Senior Congress party leaders Shri Pritam Singh, Shri Harish Rawat, Shri Karan Mahara, Shri Ganesh Godiyal, Shri Harish Dhami, Shri Ravi Bahadur, Shri Prakash Joshi, Shri Bhuvan Kapri and other senior and top level leaders were present at the event. The program began with a massive public meeting at Rangers Ground, where hundreds of youth and activists joined forces to demand concrete action on job creation and measures to combat the growing menace of drug abuse.

Addressing the crowd, IYC President Shri Uday Bhanu Chib said that “this campaign is a voice for the future of our youth. We are calling on the government to provide opportunities and take responsibility for tackling unemployment. Drug addiction is not just an individual problem but a societal one, and it is linked directly to the lack of employment and purpose among our young people.”

PCC President Shri Karan Mahara spoke on the issue of rising drugs and employment in the state. He also spoke about the 3 year relief period granted to the Slum dwellers around the riverbeds in Dehradun.

Following the gathering at Rangers Ground, participants organized a “Sachivalya Gherao” to express their demands in a peaceful but assertive manner. The rally saw slogans like “Rozgar Do, Nasha Chhodo” fill the air as marchers emphasized their call for immediate action.
The campaign reflects the commitment of the Indian Youth Congress to address the critical social issues, with a special focus on protecting the youth from the harmful effects of drug abuse while ensuring their economic well-being through job opportunities.
The “Nasha Nahi, Naukri Do” program has officially kicked off in Uttarakhand and will involve a series of events, including awareness drives, protests, and engagements with policymakers said State Youth Congress President Sumittar Bhullar. A memorandum of demands was submitted to the authorities at the conclusion of the march, urging the government to prioritize employment generation and implement strict anti-drug measures.
The Indian Youth Congress, under the leadership of Shri Uday Bhanu Chib and Shri Sumittar Bhullar, remains steadfast in its mission to fight for the rights and welfare of young people. This campaign is not just a movement for Uttarakhand but a call to action for the nation.
