Chennai/New Delhi: Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine (RRIUM), Chennai (NABH & NABL Accredited), Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM), Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, organizes two-day workshop cum hands on training on “Preventive and Therapeutic approaches for Musculoskeletal disorders through ‘Ilāj bi’l Tadbĭr (Regimenal therapy)- Recent initiatives” at Chennai, on December 23-24, 2024.
The Inaugural session commenced with the invocation of Tamil Thaaivazhthu. Dr. Athar Parvez Ansari, Research Officer (Unani) welcomed the guests and participants. Dr. N. Zaheer Ahmed, Director General, CCRUM, Ministry of Ayush, Govt. of India graced the event and delivered the presidential address. Dr. K. Narayanasamy, Vice Chancellor-Tamil Nadu, Dr. M.G.R Medical University, Chennai, TN graced the event and delivered the chief guest address. Dr. R. Velraj, Former Vice Chancellor, Anna University, Chennai, TN and Prof G. Senthilvel, Director Incharge, National Institute Siddha, Ministry of Ayush, Govt. of India, were the guest of honor in the event.
The event witnessed the presence of experts, professionals, and enthusiasts from the field of healthcare and wellness, providing a unique platform to delve into ancient healing practices and modern approaches for tackling musculoskeletal disorders.
The event also signified the inauguration and launch of ‘Master Health Check-up and Unani Sehat Consultation’ at RRIUM, Chennai, the release of the Flyer for Unani Medical and Wellness Tourism Centre for Domestic Health Seekers as well as release of the Flyer for the establishment of In-Silico Lab at RRIUM, Chennai and CRIUM, Lucknow. It marked the beginning of a new chapter in healthcare services, research, and tourism for our country, and it will play a pivotal role in advancing the Unani Medicine and Wellness.
This two day workshop covered the various aspects of regimenal therapy combining the traditional knowledge with contemporary research to explore innovative solutions for musculoskeletal health. Hands-on training has also been provided to the participants on wide range of regimenal therapies, to make them acquainted with the standard operating procedures of different therapies. Ayush practitioners, faculties and students from various institutions and scientists from CCRUM participated in the program with great zeal and enthusiasm.
The program was concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Farooqui Shazia Parveen, Research Officer (U), RRIUM, Chennai.
