Old age is the final chance for humans to repent : Muhammad Iqbal

Agra | In today’s Friday Sermon, the Imam of Masjid Neharwali, Muhammad Iqbal, described old age as a final warning. He said that people usually consider old age as a type of hardship, but that is not true. The reality is that old age is a blessing and a reminder from Allah. It is as if Allah is asking that if you were negligent until now, while I blessed you with countless favors, did you ever show gratitude? Humans often live a careless life during their youth. Old age gives a person the chance to reflect and correct themselves. These final days of life are extremely valuable. Seek forgiveness for your sins and strive to please your Lord. After this, there will be no further opportunities. Then, you will only await the four carriers (of your funeral). So, consider old age as a gift from Allah, the Lord of all worlds. Spend every moment of it with patience and gratitude. Engage in deeds that will make your Lord pleased with you. Leave this world in such a way that people ‘shed tears’ for you and speak good words about you after you are gone. This final opportunity, which we call old age, should be valued. Begin now to perform as many good deeds as possible. May Allah be pleased with all of us. Aameen.
