Professor suspended for complaining as a Hindu student

Aligarh. Professor Riyazuddin, who while posing as Hindu student circulated a malicious letter against his departmental colleague an associate professor has been suspended by the Vice Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University. He has also been banned from going out of Aligarh without the permission of the Vice Chancellor. The Times of Taj published the news prominently and exposed the matter.
Professor Riyazuddin had circulated 22 of these obnoxious letters his colleague on November 16, 2024 in the name of a Hindu student maligning the Chemistry department associate professor Dr. Ishat Mohammad Khan. These letter contained exam related issues, paper and some religious allegations. Even a letter was sent to his wife by speed post accusing him of being of bad character. In the matter, the associate professor had complained to the Vice Chancellor, AMU and the City police. The police investigated the video footage from the Head Post Office, Aligarh and found Professor Reyazuddin posting the obnoxious letters and receiving the receipts for them. After which Professor Riyazuddin was asked for an explanation on directions of the Vice Chancellor by the Registrar, Imran Khan.
The memorandum provide for release of subsistence allowance to Professor Riyazuddin the period of suspension. But he will not be able to go out of Aligarh without the permission of the Vice Chancellor. There is a buzz on the AMU Campus that Professor Riyazuddin might even lose his job as it is a misconduct unbecoming of a teacher of the University.
