A mehfil was organized at Khanqah Niazia on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Imam Hussain (AS) under the aegis of Al Niaz Educational and Welfare Society. Speaking on the occasion, Peer e Tariqat Dr. Abbas Niazi said that the personality of Prophet’s grandson, martyr of Karbala Hazrat Hussain (AS) needs no introduction.

Peer e Tariqat Dr. Abbas Niazi said that the lessons in the life and movement of Imam Hussain (AS) are a guide for every person and every class. There have been many agitators in the world who made the movement of Imam Hussain (AS) their ideal and moved forward keeping it in front of them like a lamp and made their movement successful. The news of the birth of a child in the greatest family of the whole creation on the third of Shaban in the year four Hijri filled the heart of the Prophet of Islam (S) with joy and spiritual enthusiasm. The Prophet (S) named his grandson Hussain. He was the second son of Hazrat Ali and Hazrat Fatima (S). He came to this world to carry forward the mission of the Prophet of Islam (S). It is said that when Imam Hussain (AS) was born, an angel named Hazrat Jibraeel from God along with thousands of angels descended on earth to congratulate him. The name Hussain is Shabbar and Shabbir in the Torah, the same name is Taba and Tayyab in the Bible. ‘Leader of the soldiers of heaven’ is the title of Imam Hussain (AS).

Peer e Tariqat Dr. Abbas Niazi said that Imam Hussain (AS) had great qualities in his personality. He was the grandson of the Prophet of Islam (S). He spent six years of his life under the protection of the Prophet of Islam (S). The greatness of the personality of the Prophet of Islam (S) left its mark on the personality of Imam Hussain (S) for six years. When we read the Ziyarat of Imam Hussain (S), this important sentence comes up: O my leader, O Abu Abdillah, I testify that you are a descendant of pious ancestors. Ignorance with its corrupt nature could not even come close to you.An important point in the life of Imam Hussain (S) was that the Prophet of Islam (S) had a very deep affection for him and his elder brother Hazrat Imam Hasan (S). The Prophet of Islam (S) said that Hussain is from me and I am from Hussain. O Allah! Love the one who loves Hussain.

Peer e Tariqat Dr. Abbas Niazi said that the environment in which Imam Hussain (AS) opened his eyes and where he was brought up was developed under the supervision of great personalities like Hazrat Ali (AS) and Hazrat Fatima Zahra (SA). In this environment, Imam Hussain (SA) was equipped with great etiquette qualities like justice, truth and courage because these qualities were present in their greatest form in Hazrat Ali (AS) and Hazrat Fatima Zahra (SA). He had learned from childhood that life is useless without great objectives, it has no value. If there is no truth in life, then life has no meaning. In other words, Imam Hussain (AS) was connected to the source from his childhood itself from which the stream of greatness and great qualities flows. When the Qur’anic verses were revealed to the Prophet of Islam (S), that is, the angel would come to the Prophet of Islam (S), then on many occasions Imam Hussain (AS) would be with the Prophet of Islam (S) and would be a part of that spiritual environment. In this way, he reached the heights of greatness. Not only his admirers but even his opponents were well aware of his greatness and qualities and also believed it.

Peer e Tariqat Dr. Abbas Niazi said that the personality of Imam Hussain (AS) was very attractive, there was special sweetness and sweetness in his speech, when he spoke, his words would go deep into the hearts of the people. Even dead hearts would come alive due to the effect of his words. His courage was exemplary since childhood, he was always ready to protect religion and human principles and to propagate Islam. Imam Hussain (AS) also laid great emphasis on knowledge, he used to say that acquiring knowledge is the role of perfection and upliftment. That is, if any person wants to reach spiritual heights, then it is necessary for him to first acquire knowledge. He himself was an ocean of knowledge, no one can guess the depth of his knowledge. Imam Hussain (AS) said that we are those people who possess the knowledge of the Quran and the skill of explaining it. What we have is not possessed by any human being, we have the knowledge of the secrets of God. Both knowledge and spirituality could be seen at the peak in the existence of Imam Hussain (AS). There was great tenderness in his personality. He had immense love for the poor and devotion to Allah was present within him in a very strange form. When he worshiped Allah, when he praised God, his love for God was reflected in a very attractive way.

Peer e Tariqat Dr. Abbas Niazi said that only 50 years had passed since the death of the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) when selfish and power-hungry people, liars, oppressors and hateful people started deceiving the common people from the path of religion by resorting to deception. Imam Hussain (AS) knew very well that if this was not controlled at the right time, then falsehood would sacrifice everyone for its selfishness and greed. He believed that even if people are distanced from the truth, the enthusiasm and great objectives of truth remain firm at their place and truth continues to spread its shine on the forehead of history. The movement of Imam Hussain (AS) is a mirror of that verse of the Quran in which it is said that when two groups come face to face in the battlefield, there is a lesson for you in it. One group fights in the way of God and the other group is an atheist. In other words, it should be said that Imam Hussain (A) and Yazid were face to face as symbols of two fronts of truth and falsehood and two ideologies.

Peer e Tariqat Dr. Abbas Niazi said that Imam Hussain (A) was a very courageous, very compassionate, kind and very humble person. He used to eat food sitting on the same dastarkhan with the poor and the beggars. He used to accept their invitations and invite them to eat at his place. He used to pay off the debts of the debtors, always supported the suffering. From the point of view of knowledge, he had full knowledge of all subjects and fields like his father Hazrat Ali (A). A lot has been written and spoken in history about the characteristics and qualities of Imam Hussain (A). Not only Muslims but also non-Muslims have said and written a lot about Imam Hussain (A). In other words, it can be said that Imam Hussain (A) is the soul of all religions and as long as history continues, he will continue to play his role as the soul of religions. When Imam Hussain (A) started his movement, he said with full determination that I swear by God that I will never kneel down, I will embrace death like great people. He explained the true meaning of prestige and pride and made all sensible and intelligent people his fans.

Peer e Tariqat Dr. Abbas Niazi said that today we are celebrating the auspicious birth anniversary of Imam Hussain (A) whose life, whose thoughts, whose movement give us the most immortal lessons. On the auspicious birth anniversary of this great personality, we accept that humanity, entangled in mechanical life, in such an era when the importance of moral values is constantly decreasing and they are being neglected, is fortunate to have been introduced to Imam Hussain (AS). They should read the entire life and movement of Imam Hussain (AS) not once but many times and make his objectives a source of inspiration for their struggle and their fight for truth. Indeed, Imam Hussain (AS) is the name of an immortal truth which can introduce one to the most enlightening values and principles of life.
