Agra | The Imam of Masjid Neharwali Sikandra, Muhammad Iqbal, addressed the congregation in today’s Friday Sermon on the topic of Allah’s Word, the Qur’an. He said, There is perhaps no book in the world that places as much emphasis on using intellect as the Quran does. The Quran encourages people to use their reasoning from multiple angles. For example: “This Messenger teaches you the Book and wisdom”, “Only those with intellect take heed”, “People of understanding, take lesson”, “If only they had used their reason”, “You do not use your intellect”, “You do not reflect on the Quran” and “This Quran is for those who think”. If you want to hear it in even clearer terms, then reflect on these verses : “They are deaf, dumb, and blind – so they do not use their intellect.” “The worst of creatures in the sight of Allah are the deaf and dumb who do not use reason.“ “Allah casts filth upon those who do not use their intellect.” And lastly, listen with open ears :
“The disbelievers will say, If only we had listened and used our reason, we would not be among the people of Hell.” Despite all of this, the Qur’an is the only book in the world whose followers don’t read it with understanding. Now ask yourself, who is truly responsible for disrespecting the Word of Allah? The answer is, those who claim to follow it. Will Allah not question them? What answer will we give? O servants of Allah! There is still time, build your connection with the Quran. Even today, there are Muslims who have never read it. Will they not have to stand before their Lord? O People ! remember, we are all responsible. The Quran was meant to be delivered to all of humanity, but we wrapped it in cloth and placed it in our homes. We are all guilty of this. Start reading the Quran from today, and make it a habit. Otherwise, be ready to answer.
