Reaffirms Commitment to Peace, National Unity, Education and Social Welfare
New Delhi: The All India Ulama Board is celebrating its Silver Jubilee Year, marking an important milestone in its journey of promoting peace, national unity, inter-community dialogue, education and social welfare in India.
According to the organisation, its journey began in 1989, when like-minded religious and social personalities gathered at the residence of Allama Bunai Hasani. During the meeting, discussions were held on the need for an effective and united organisation to promote communal harmony, national unity and constructive dialogue. The initiative was envisioned as a platform representing different schools of thought and communities, and the name “All India Ulama Board” was subsequently proposed.
Leadership Journey
Peer Fakhru Miyan Chishti, the Gaddinashin of the Ajmer Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, served as the organisation’s first president. Allama Bunai Hasani, the founder and General Secretary, has remained associated with the organisation’s mission and activities since its inception.
The second president was Maulana Niaz Ahmed Qasmi, the Shahi Imam of Eidgah Shahjahani in Delhi. The third president was Maulana Sahabuddin Salafi Firdausi. At present, Maulana Naushad Ahmed Siddiqui is serving as the fourth president of the organisation.
The Board says its leadership has consistently worked to bring religious scholars, educationists, social workers and community representatives together on a common platform for dialogue and public service.
Growing Engagement in Social Issues
Over the years, the All India Ulama Board says its activities have expanded beyond religious discussions to address wider social issues. Its programmes and dialogues focus on strengthening understanding among communities, promoting peaceful coexistence and encouraging a sense of shared national responsibility.
The Board also seeks to connect scholars and community leaders with professionals, teachers, social workers and representatives of civil society. Through dialogue-based programmes and public initiatives, it aims to create an atmosphere of cooperation on issues affecting ordinary citizens.
Promoting national unity and social harmony remains central to its public approach. The organisation encourages communities to participate positively in education, welfare and nation-building initiatives.
Focus on Education and Social Welfare
Education and social welfare form an important part of the organisation’s mission. The Board has supported initiatives aimed at spreading educational awareness, strengthening social responsibility and recognising individuals working for the upliftment of disadvantaged sections of society.
According to the organisation, constructive dialogue among communities is essential for addressing social challenges and building an inclusive society.
Honouring Excellence and Public Service
The All India Ulama Board also recognises distinguished personalities for their contributions in various fields, including education, social activism, humanitarian service, women’s empowerment, journalism, art, inclusive politics, healthcare and medicine, corporate development and business.
The awards seek to acknowledge individuals whose work has made a positive impact on society and to inspire others to contribute to public welfare.
Supreme Body and Awards Jury
The Board’s Supreme Body and Awards Jury includes prominent members from different cities and states. They include Advocate Amjad Khan of Lucknow, Syed Muzaffar Ali of Ajmer, Mufti Tahir Hussain Mazahiri of Delhi, Mr. Badshah Khan of Ranchi, Haji Sohail Patel Ashrafi of Nagpur, Mufti Khalid Azam Haidari of Kolkata, Qazi Rizwan-ul-Rehman Siddiqui of Gulbarga, Maulana Riyazuddin Naqshbandi of Hyderabad, and Principal Dr. Zeba Malik of Mumbai.
Reaffirming Commitment to Peace and Unity
On the occasion of its Silver Jubilee Year, the All India Ulama Board has reiterated its commitment to peace, inter-community dialogue, education, social welfare and national unity.
The organisation said it would continue working to build bridges among different sections of Indian society and promote dialogue, cooperation and public service.
Shamim Ahmed Khan, Delhi State President of the Board, is serving as the convenor for the occasion.
