Namrata Daan leads Congress workers in welcoming the newly appointed Uttar Pradesh Congress in-charge at Rehan Kalan Toll Plaza
Agra: Senior Congress leader and National Chairman of the Scheduled Caste Department of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), Rajendra Pal Gautam, who was recently appointed as the Uttar Pradesh Congress in-charge, received a grand welcome at Rehan Kalan Toll Plaza in Agra on Wednesday during his first official visit to the state.

The reception was led by Namrata Daan, National Secretary of the All India Mahila Congress, along with Congress leaders, party workers, and supporters. The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm as slogans such as “Rahul Gandhi Zindabad,” “Congress Party Zindabad,” and “Rajendra Pal Gautam Zindabad” echoed across the venue.
Speaking to journalists, Rajendra Pal Gautam alleged that Uttar Pradesh is witnessing poor governance and claimed that atrocities against Dalits, women, and marginalized communities have increased under the present administration. He also criticized the state government over law-and-order issues and accused it of suppressing the opposition.
Gautam further asserted that the people of Uttar Pradesh are seeking political change and expressed confidence that the Congress, under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, would emerge as a strong alternative. He said the 2027 Assembly elections would lay the foundation for a larger political change, adding that Rahul Gandhi would become the Prime Minister in 2029.
Addressing the gathering, Namrata Daan said the Congress would intensify its fight for social justice under the leadership of Rajendra Pal Gautam. She stated that a wave of change has begun in Uttar Pradesh and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to building a state where every section of society enjoys equal rights, dignity, and opportunities.
Among those present were Agra Metropolitan Congress President Amit Singh Diwakar, District President Ramnath Sikarwar, former District President Devendra Chillu, Ashwini Jain, Manoj Bohra, Shanu Khan, Umesh Joshi, Sheenu Khan, Shaif Khan, Rafiq alias Bitta, Shabbu Khan Warsi, Zeeshan Khan, Sandeep Pandey, Nasir Jalil, and hundreds of Congress workers and supporters.
