Aligarh: Parcham Party of India and Paschim Pradesh Nirman Morcha have demanded the establishment of a separate state of Paschim Pradesh by combining 27 districts of Western Uttar Pradesh. In this connection, both organisations held a joint press conference. After the press conference, a memorandum addressed to the President of India was submitted through the District Magistrate, Aligarh.
On this occasion, Satyapal Singh Yadav, Central President of Paschim Pradesh Nirman Morcha, said that the people of Western Uttar Pradesh have to travel long distances to Lucknow, the state capital, and for work related to the High Court. He asked how long the people of the region would continue to face these difficulties. He said that the formation of a separate Paschim Pradesh would improve administrative facilities, create new government employment opportunities for young people, and make it easier to resolve local governmental and administrative problems. It would also accelerate the development of trade and industry in the region.
Nazim Ilahi, National President of Parcham Party of India, said that his party had previously launched a movement demanding that Uttar Pradesh be divided into four parts to ensure better administration and equal development and prosperity for all regions. He said that a proposal for the reorganisation of Uttar Pradesh had also been passed in the Legislative Assembly. He added that the demand for establishing a separate Paschim Pradesh should be considered seriously to provide the people of Western Uttar Pradesh with better administration, justice and development opportunities.
Colonel Sudhir Chaudhary, Central General Secretary of Paschim Pradesh Nirman Morcha, said that the people of Western Uttar Pradesh need to participate in the administrative system and political decision-making process. The problems of the region should also be given priority. He said that the people of the region should receive development opportunities in accordance with their economic contribution and needs.
Omveer Singh Birwal, Organisation Minister, said that in a large state like Uttar Pradesh, with a population of approximately 250 million, delays in resolving local problems and administrative mismanagement within the extensive administrative system cause difficulties for ordinary people. He stressed the need to establish an effective administrative system at the regional level and increase public participation in governance.
During the joint press conference, the speakers said that the establishment of a separate Paschim Pradesh would enable the decentralisation of administrative powers to lower levels, the prompt resolution of local problems, an expansion of employment opportunities, and more effective attention to regional requirements related to the development of education, healthcare, agriculture and trade.
