OBU, Oda Bultum University’s Law School students have participated in the 2025 2nd Rashtriya Raksha University International Moot Court Competition in India from November 14–16. The event allowed them to showcase their legal skills and network with global peers and professionals. The students engaged in debates and gained insights on “International Law and Global Security,” addressing topics such as dual-use trade, third-country sanctions, and compliance with international court rulings.
The event featured 24 teams and 72 participants from international universities, and ultimately the top eight teams competed at Rashtriya Raksha University in India. Among them, only two African universities participated, with Oda Bultum University as Ethiopia’s only representative in the top eight. This achievement underscores Oda Bultum University’s growing recognition in global academic competitions and emphasizes the event’s importance in fostering international partnership and idea exchange among diverse universities in the world.
This year, 5th year Law School Students Teklu Terressa, Mikias Bilata, and Gelila Debele represented Oda Bultum University in this international Moot Court competition. They demonstrated commitment to excellence, setting foundational example for future participants.
It is reminded that, Teklu Terressa secured 1st rank in last year’s national essay writing competition, reflecting the university’s commitment to producing competent graduates on both national and global levels.
