Tournament to be held on 22nd and 23rd November
Agra: The glittering trophy for the winning team of the Citizen Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament, organized by the Citizen Cricket Club, was unveiled at the Youth Hostel in Sanjay Place. On this occasion, all eight participating teams’ captains were also presented with their respective team jerseys.
Organizing Secretary Moin Babu informed that the tournament will take place on 22nd and 23rd November at the St. John’s College Ground. A total of 8 teams will participate. The tournament will follow a knockout format, with the initial matches consisting of 8 overs each, while the semi-finals and final matches will be played over 10 overs.
Senior Sports Administrator Baldev Bhatnagar said that the tournament has remained popular among both players and spectators for several years. Its transparency and grand organization have given it a unique identity.
Simmi Kapoor, CEO of Cricket Galaxy, extended her best wishes to all team captains for victory. The event was hosted by former cricketer Naveen Goswami.
On the occasion, Sammy Agai highlighted that Agra has no shortage of talent but requires platforms to nurture it. She emphasized the need for an international standard stadium in the city and said efforts are ongoing, which will surely yield success one day.
The trophy unveiling was also attended by social worker Shakeel Sheikh, Mohammad Tahir, and all team captains.
