Agra: In an initiative aimed at celebrating Agra’s rich historical, cultural, religious and natural heritage, the Agra District Administration has launched the online photography competition “My Agra Through My Lens” (Meri Nazar Se Agra). The initiative, launched under the leadership of District Magistrate Manish Bansal, seeks to encourage public participation in presenting the city’s unique identity through the eyes of its people.
The competition is open to everyone, from amateur photography enthusiasts to professional photographers, and participation is completely free.
Participants may submit original photographs capturing the beauty of any part of Agra district, including Agra city, Fatehpur Sikri, Sikandra, Bah, Bateshwar, the Chambal region and other rural or urban areas. Entries may feature historical monuments, religious sites, cultural traditions, festivals, handicrafts, local life, natural landscapes and industrial heritage.
Photographs of iconic landmarks such as the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri, Itmad-ud-Daulah, Sikandra and Bateshwar Temples, as well as lesser-known locations, are also eligible.
Entries Open Until July 20
Participants must submit their original photographs along with a caption of not more than 30 words, mentioning their name, address and mobile number, by July 20, 2026, via email at upinfoagra01@gmail.com.
Competition Guidelines
- The photograph must be an original image captured by the participant.
- Images copied from the internet or any other source will not be accepted.
- Each entry must include a caption of up to 30 words.
- The participant’s name, address and mobile number are mandatory.
- By submitting an entry, participants grant the District Administration permission to use the photograph for non-commercial public interest purposes, while the copyright will remain with the photographer.
Certificates for Winners
The best entries will be honoured with Certificates of Appreciation by the District Magistrate. The selected photographs will also be showcased on the district’s official website, agra.nic.in, with due credit to the photographers.
“Agra Is More Than the Taj Mahal”
District Magistrate Manish Bansal said that Agra is not just the home of the Taj Mahal but also a city of vibrant culture, traditional craftsmanship and rich heritage.
“This competition provides citizens with an opportunity to present their city from their own perspective. Through public participation, we hope to showcase Agra’s diverse beauty and unique identity to a wider audience,” he said.
The District Magistrate has appealed to students, amateur and professional photographers, and all residents of Agra to participate enthusiastically and contribute to highlighting the district’s rich cultural and historical legacy through their lenses.
