Aligarh.The NEET-SS, an all India entrance examination to Master of Chirurgiae (MCh), to become a super specialised surgeon in Head and Neck Oncology. The test was conducted on 26th December 2025 with around six hundred candidates from all over India trying to secure themselves a seat from the limited 20 to 30 seats available throughout India.
Dr Saadia Islam, Assistant Professor, Department of ENT, Jawahar Lal Medical College JNMC), is an alumnus of the College itself. She attended the Our Lady Fatima Higher Secondary School, Aligarh. She passed out her High School in 2002 with an aggregate of 87%, after which she joined the AMU Senior Secondary School (Girls) opting for Physics, Chemistry and Biology as her subjects. She obtained an aggregate of 71.75 %. She then prepared for Medical Entrance and started studying for MBBS at the JNMC in 2006, which she graduated in 2010. She then through an entrance examination qualified to do her Master of Surgery (MS) in ENT at JNMC in 2016, she topped in her examinations and was appointed as Senior Resident (SR) at the Shri Mahant Indresh Hospital, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. She rejoined JNMC in the same capacity as SR in 2017 and went on to qualify, in the first attempt, Diplomate of National Board (DNB).
Dr Saadia Islam after completing her SR ship joined Siddham ENT Hospital, Jaipur as a Consultant. She rejoined JNMC after being selected through a General Selection Committee on permanent basis as an Assistant Professor in the Department of ENT in November 2021. She continued her studies and qualified as Member of Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS), England in 2023.
Dr Saadia Islam while working as an Assistant Professor while holding independent surgeries realised she can augment the Department by super specialising in Head & Neck Oncology Surgeries. She attempted the NEET-SS, an all India entrance examination to MCh for super specialisation. She cleared the test with All India Rank (AIR) 06 from among around 600 candidates from all over India competing for 20 to 30 seats available throughout India.
