Delhi (Staff Reporter) The Indian Polo Association (IPA) in collaboration with KogniVera IT officially launched the KogniVera International Polo Cup at the Army Equestrian Centre, Delhi Cantonment, marking the beginning of a much-anticipated international polo contest. The event showcased the unveiling of the trophy and the official presentation of the competing teams, highlighting the spirit of sportsmanship and international camaraderie.
The afternoon’s highlight was the grand unveiling of the KogniVera International Polo Cup trophy, a symbol of competitive excellence and the shared heritage between India and Argentina, two nations united by their love for polo.
Representing India are Simran Shergill, Shamsheer Ali, Sawai Padmanabh Singh, and Siddhant Sharma. They will face Team Argentina, comprising Juan Augustin Garcia Grossi, Salvador Jauretche, Matias Bautista Espasandin, and Nicolas Jorge Corti Maderna. Both teams are expected to deliver a thrilling contest, showcasing strategy, skill, strength, and horsemanship.
The event also featured a panel discussion emphasising the intersection of heritage, technology, and sportsmanship, and how such international tournaments elevate India’s standing in the global polo arena.
