Agra: A screen acting workshop titled “Safar: From Zero to Character 2.0” is being organized in Agra under the joint banner of Uttar Pradesh Kala Manch and Rama Films. The workshop will be conducted from December 17, 2025, to January 5, 2026, daily from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
The workshop will be directed by renowned theatre practitioner and film director Talat Umri, a BNA Alumni, who will guide aspiring actors through the nuances of acting for the camera. The primary objective of the workshop is to train new and enthusiastic performers in screen acting techniques and help them understand the key differences between theatre and on-screen performance.
Talat Umri’s recently directed film “Dipstick (DIPSTICK)” has received official selections at several prestigious film festivals, including the Nirmal Pandey Memorial Film Festival (Odisha), Chalachitram International Film Festival (Guwahati, Assam), and the Khajuraho International Film Festival 2025. His earlier films, “A Glass of Water” and “Just Opposite”, were also well received by audiences.
The director is currently planning new film projects with emerging talent from Agra, and this workshop marks the first step toward nurturing a new generation of screen actors through practical and hands-on training.

Speaking on the occasion, Manoj Kumar Sharma, Director and Line Producer at Rama Films, stated that Agra is rapidly emerging as a hub for theatre and film production. Several film shoots are proposed in the city in the coming months, which will open new opportunities for local artists.
According to the organizers, participants demonstrating exceptional performance during the workshop will also be considered for upcoming film projects.
