Most challenging cooking contest on earth is back with the unique concept, blind participants from all over the world.
With the promise to recreate a stage that serves as an inspiration for everyone, an International Cooking Contest for the Blind – “Golden Eye Chef 2023” is begins.
The details for the international cooking contest for the blind – Golden Eye Chef 2023 were announced in a virtual program (https://youtu.be/82zfYD-1oog) on 30th September 2023 at 8 PM IST by the team Golden Eye Chef 2023. The virtual announcement of the competition apart from the founder of the contest, Mr Akhil Srivastava, was bestowed with the presence of Ángel Palacios, Pinky Mangal, Appana Sree Mani and Chef Vishawnath K Iyer.
With the winners of Golden Eye Chef 2022 competition Ángel Palacios, Pinky Mangal, Appana Sree Mani flagging off the event in three languages Spanish, Hindi and English, the enthusiasm is set to soar to the new heights.
Chief of the Jury Chef Viswanatha K. Iyer well explained the marking parameters of Golden Eye Chef 2023 – International Cooking Contest for the Blind.
This year the Golden Eye Chef 2023 task is to prepare ‘One traditional dish from your locality using locally available ingredients’. And participants are free to use their preferred language in the video. However, if it’s not in English or Hindi, they have to provide English text of the voiceover in the video.
The past successful editions of the Golden Eye Chef Contest did not fail to mesmorise everyone who witnessed the brilliant culinary skills possessed by the participants. This one-of-its-kind culinary contest for cooks with blindness, is officially back for yet another edition.
The Golden Eye Chef Contest 2023, started with video submissions round beginning on 30th September 2023. This round is set to commence on 30th October 2023.
Participant have to make a video of yourself cooking a traditional dish of your area using locally available ingredients and send it to goldeneyechef@antardrishti.org
Who all can participate?
Like previous editions, there are two categories- one for totally blind and another for partially blind participants.
The contest is open to legally blind individuals holding a valid blindness certificate, regardless of their location, gender, language, religion, or race. Participants must be 18 years or older by September 30, 2023.
There would be no discrimination on the basis of the location, gender, race, etc. of the eligible participant. The contest has free participation, so no registration fees required.
Awards
There will be 10 awards in total. The Jury Awards will be Golden Eye Chef 2023 International as well as runner-up 2023, most innovative recipe and best traditional recipe 2023 in both the categories.
The jury will judge the recipes keeping in mind the Authenticity of the dish, Use of ingredients, Presentation, Quantity, Difficulty and the level of skill required in preparing the dish and Dish Info.
