New Delhi,: The Artists and Entertainment Cricket League (AECL) is all set to return with its much-anticipated Season 8, promising a bigger platform and a star-studded line-up. This season, all matches will be held at the iconic Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium (JLN Stadium) in New Delhi from September 28 to October 3.
AECL owner Ashish Mathur expressed his excitement about the upcoming season, stating that hosting the tournament at JLN Stadium will add a new dimension to the league. “I am very excited because this time all our matches are taking place at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. People have a dream to see and experience the pitch there. A lot of people from the artist and event industry miss playing cricket because they used to play it during their childhood. We have created this platform so that they can come and play cricket, stay fit and also do their business,” he said.
Season 8 will feature 12 teams, bringing together artists, performers, and professionals from the entertainment and event industry across India. The league continues to attract participation from well-known personalities who, despite their busy schedules, make time to be part of the tournament.
Highlighting this enthusiasm, Mathur added, “I am very happy that the teams have come from all over India. People like Shadab Bhaiya have taken out time despite how busy they are. The fact that they make time for this shows that cricket is somewhere in the heart of India.”
With participation growing each year, AECL aims to make its eighth edition one of its biggest and most successful yet. The league provides a unique platform for the entertainment fraternity to reconnect with their passion for cricket while promoting fitness, camaraderie, and networking.
Looking ahead, the organisers are also planning to take AECL to an international stage. “This time it is JLN. Next time, if God wills, we will take it to Dubai. We want to take this message all over the world,” Mathur revealed.
With six days of action-packed cricket at one of Delhi’s most prominent sporting venues, AECL Season 8 promises to be a grand celebration of sport and entertainment, bringing together talent, passion, and excitement under one roof.
