Lucknow: In a move aimed at strengthening the political participation of the minority community and advancing the commitment to constitutional values, Imran Pratapgarhi, Chairman of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) Minority Department and Member of Parliament, has officially announced the formation of the State Advisory Council of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Minority Department.
The council has been constituted under the guidance of Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee President Ajay Rai. It is expected to provide organisational support, political guidance and strategic inputs for strengthening the party’s minority outreach and organisational structure across the state.
The council includes several senior leaders and prominent representatives, including Salman Khurshid, Imran Masood, Pradeep Jain Aditya, Zafar Ali Naqvi, Begum Noor Bano, Kunwar Danish Ali, Saeed-uz-Zaman, M. M. Afzal, Nadeem Javed, Imran Kidwai, Masood Akhtar, Haji Ikram Qureshi, Afroz Ali Khan, Dr. Mahmoodullah Chaudhary, Hafiz Mohammad Umar, Moeed Ahmed, Anees Ansari, Shehnawaz Alam, Yusuf Qureshi, Tariq Siddiqui, Ashfaqullah Khan, Syed Asim Waqar, Mohammad Shamim Khan, Adnan Ashraf, Liaqat Chaudhary, Naseeb Singh Sandhu, Parvez Akhtar Ansari, Naseem Qureshi, Arifa Utsahi, Firoz Ahmed Khan, Amandeep Singh Gambhir, Khalid Masood, Arshad Azmi, Anas Rahman, Arshad Khurshid, Junaid Ikram Qureshi, Rizwan Qureshi and Ayaz Khan Achchu, among others.
The council also includes Asad Maulai, Sadaf Jafar, Advocate Arshad Parvez, Maroof Khan, Ashfaq Saklaini, Mohammad Arif Turki, Muti-ur-Rehman, Zia-ur-Rehman, Akhlaq Pradhan, Haji Ashiq Hussain, Qazi Suhail Ahmed, Mohammad Shakir Hussain, Mohammad Mohsin, Ashfaq Ahmed (Gangapar), Wasim Ansari, Saif Naqvi, Haseeb Khan, Mohammad Rashid and Aslam Chaudhary.

Several other leaders have also been assigned responsibilities in the council, including Javed Ashraf, Rafat Fatima, Arshad Ali, Sardar Kuldeep Singh, Nawab Mujahid, Harpreet Singh Chaba, Dr. Wajahat Karim, Mohammad Majin, Vincent Joyel, Muzaffar Chaudhary, Sameena Shafiq, Danish Mabood, Shehzad, Abrar Khan, Ruhi Zubairi, Hilal Naqvi, Anwar Anees, Syed Muneer Akbar, Dr. Zafarullah, Husn Ara, Syed Rehan Ghani, Hasan Arif Ansari, Musheer Tareen, Iliyas Ansari, Tanveer Safdar, Naqeeb, Ahmed Hasan, Noor-ul-Huda, Abdul Jabbar, Fuzail Hashmi, Khurshid Anwar, Maulana Wahid, Irfan Ali, Dr. Maroof Ali, Indu Gautam, Azmatullah Khan, Simon Patrick, Shahana Siddiqui, Saleem Akhtar, Siraj Hashmi and Mohammad Ahmed Khan.
According to the letter, Mohammad Ahmed Khan has been appointed Co-Convenor, while former MLA Sohel Akhtar Ansari has been appointed Convenor.
Focus on organisational strengthening
The State Advisory Council will provide political guidance, organisational cooperation and strategic suggestions to the Minority Department in Uttar Pradesh. The council will focus on strengthening organisational communication with minority communities and promoting issues related to social justice, constitutional values and inclusive political participation in line with the Congress party’s programmes and organisational priorities.
Ayaz Khan Achchu expresses gratitude
Expressing gratitude for his inclusion in the State Advisory Council, Ayaz Khan Achchu thanked AICC Minority Department Chairman and MP Imran Pratapgarhi for placing his trust in him and giving him the responsibility.
He also expressed his special gratitude to Uttar Pradesh in-charge Ruby Khan, West co-in-charge Mahmood Khan, and Uttar Pradesh Congress Minority Department Chairman Sohel Akhtar Ansari.
Ayaz Khan Achchu congratulated all the members appointed to the council and said he would work with full commitment towards strengthening the organisation.
