CNMS-DAIC Har Ghar Tiranga Discussion Features Col Akash Patil, Dr Dinesh Dubey and Dr Md Shams Equbal
New Delhi Aug 17, 2026: The Centre for NaMo Studies (CNMS), in collaboration with the Dr Ambedkar International Centre organised a discussion on “Har Ghar Tiranga”, focusing on engaging Generation Z with the values of unity, civic responsibility, social harmony and constructive participation in public life at DAIC New Delhi
The speakers emphasised that the national flag represents shared values and collective responsibility, and said young citizens can express these values through their everyday conduct, social service, respect for diversity, environmental responsibility and adherence to law.
Delivering the keynote address, Col. Akash Patil, Director, Dr Ambedkar International Centre, said young people have an important role in shaping society and should use their skills and technology responsibly.
“Young people are not simply the future of the country; they are important participants in shaping its present. Responsibility begins when we understand that our individual actions have an impact on society,” Col Patil said.
Dr Dinesh Dubey, Editor-in-Chief, The Emerging World Daily, highlighted the responsibility of young people in the digital information environment. “In the digital age, every individual has become a potential publisher. With that opportunity comes the responsibility to verify information before sharing it,” Dr Dubey said.
Dr Md Shams Equbal, Director, National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL), Ministry of Education, underlined the importance of education in developing responsible citizens.
“Education does not only provide employment; it develops understanding, confidence and a sense of responsibility. An educated young generation can become the strongest foundation for a progressive society,” Equbal said. He also stressed the importance of India’s linguistic and cultural diversity.
In his introductory remarks, Prof. Jasim Mohammad, Chairman, Centre for NaMo Studies, said Har Ghar Tiranga can provide an opportunity to connect young citizens with wider values of unity, service and responsibility.
“The national flag is not simply something that we display; it represents our shared values, unity and collective aspirations. Its message becomes meaningful when we carry those values into our daily lives,” Prof. Jasim said. He also highlighted the potential of Gen-Z to contribute to the country’s development.
The session was moderated by Jawaid Rahmani, who focused on critical thinking and responsible digital participation among young people.
