Agra: Dr. Shagufta has been awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in English Literature by Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University (DBRAU), Agra. Her research was titled “Human Relationships in the Novels of Khaled Hosseini: A Study of Traumatic Circumstances.” The study was completed under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Poonam Rani Gupta of the Department of English, B.D.K.M.V.
After years of dedication, perseverance, and academic commitment, Dr. Shagufta successfully completed her doctoral research. She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to her research supervisor, Prof. Dr. Poonam Rani Gupta, whose guidance, encouragement, and continuous support played a pivotal role in the successful completion of her work.
The journey toward earning a Ph.D. was particularly challenging for Dr. Shagufta, as she pursued her research while balancing the responsibilities of marriage and motherhood. Managing family commitments, childcare, and academic obligations simultaneously was not an easy task. However, through determination, patience, and relentless hard work, she achieved her long-cherished goal.
Dr. Shagufta credited her success to the unwavering support of her family. She expressed special gratitude to her parents, particularly her mother, who cared for her son during the demanding years of research and academic work. She also thanked her father for his constant inspiration and blessings. Furthermore, she acknowledged the support and understanding of her husband, which enabled her to continue her education and research without interruption. She also extended her appreciation to her brothers and sister for their encouragement during challenging times.
Speaking about her son, Dr. Shagufta said that he remained a constant source of inspiration throughout her academic journey.
Dedicating her Ph.D. degree to her mother, she remarked:
“Behind every achievement of mine stands my mother, whose love, sacrifices, and unwavering support made this dream a reality.”
