387th Annual Urs of Hazrat Syedna Amir Abul Ula Ahrari Concludes with Devotion in Agra; Fana wa Baqa Unveiled Amid Qawwali and Traditional Ceremonies

Agra: The 387th Annual Urs of Hazrat Syedna Amir Abul Ula Ahrari (RA), the founder of the Abul Ulai Sufi Order and one of the eminent spiritual saints of the 10th century Hijri, concluded in Agra with great devotion, reverence, and spiritual fervor.

Devotees and followers of the Abul Ulai Silsila gathered from across India, including Danapur, Hyderabad, Rampur, Pilibhit, Lucknow, Jaipur, Delhi, and several other cities, to participate in the sacred annual gathering.

The Urs celebrations commenced on Friday night after the Isha prayer with a Mehfil-e-Sama (Qawwali gathering). Renowned qawwals from Etawah, Jaipur, Agra, and Rampur presented soulful Sufi renditions. The audience was particularly moved by the selected poetry of Hazrat Shah Akbar Danapuri (RA), including the famous compositions “Ae Agre Wale” and “Yahi Wazifa Hai Ashiqon Ka,” creating an atmosphere of spiritual ecstasy.

The Qawwali session continued the following morning from 10:00 a.m. until Zuhr prayer. At 1:00 p.m., a grand book-launch ceremony was held for Hazrat Syedna Amir Abul Ula’s rare Sufi treatise, Fana wa Baqa.

Speaking on the occasion, Maulana Syed Shah Mohammad Rayan Abul Ulai described the treatise as an invaluable scholarly and spiritual resource for students of Islamic mysticism and seekers of Sufism. He noted that the work has been published for the first time by Khanqah Sajjadiya Abul Ulaiya, Danapur, featuring the original Persian text along with its Urdu translation, annotations, scholarly references, and a comprehensive introduction.

Following the book launch, the traditional 182nd Tosha Fatiha ceremony was observed. Hazrat Haji Syed Shah Saifullah Abul Ulai, the Sajjada Nashin of Khanqah Sajjadiya Abul Ulaiya, Danapur, led a collective prayer for peace, prosperity, national harmony, the well-being of the Muslim community, and the welfare of humanity.

Addressing the gathering, Hazrat Saifullah Abul Ulai highlighted that the annual Urs has been celebrated with dignity and spiritual grandeur under the guidance of successive custodians of the Khanqah, including Hazrat Shah Qasim Abul Ulai Danapuri (RA), Hazrat Shah Akbar Danapuri (RA), Hazrat Shah Mohsin Danapuri (RA), and Hazrat Shah Zafar Sajjad Danapuri (RA).

He further emphasized that Khanqah Sajjadiya Abul Ulaiya, Danapur, has played a pivotal role in preserving and promoting the scholarly, spiritual, and historical heritage of the Abul Ulai Silsila. Through the publication of rare manuscripts, research, and preservation of Sufi literature, the Khanqah continues to make an exceptional contribution to the dissemination of Islamic spiritual knowledge and heritage.
