Agra: On the occasion of Children’s Day, students of G.I. Global School experienced an exciting ride on the Agra Metro. Simultaneously, Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) organised an awareness session at Radcliffe Public School to educate students and their parents about the significance and key features of the Agra Metro. During the session, the Agra Metro team briefed students about various metro facilities.

The awareness programme highlighted the green and eco-friendly nature of the Agra Metro. As a Mass Rapid Transit System, it uses zero-emission technology, contributing significantly to environmental conservation.
Students were guided on the correct usage of the metro and safe travel practices. They were informed about how citizens can avoid traffic congestion and dust by using the metro, making travel safer, faster, and more convenient.
During the G.I. Global School metro ride, students were introduced to passenger-friendly features such as ramps, escalators, lifts, tactile paths, passenger display systems, and Braille provisions in lifts and trains. The team also informed students about metro coach booking facilities for celebrations like birthdays, anniversaries, and kitty parties.

The Agra Metro route connects major educational institutions, key railway stations, bus terminals, hospitals, workplaces, and market areas. It provides relief from traffic congestion and helps reduce the city’s carbon footprint.
Currently, metro operations are underway on the Priority Section of the first corridor, while construction on the remaining sections is progressing rapidly.
