Agra. Indian women’s cricket team has made history by winning the Women’s World Cup for the first time, showcasing the power of women on the global stage. In recognition of her outstanding achievement as the “Woman of the Tournament,” Dipti Sharma met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath along with her family, facilitated by Cabinet Minister for Higher Education Yogendra Upadhyay.
Dipti Sharma, who arrived at Lok Kalyan Bhavan in Lucknow with her parents and DGP Rajeev Krishna in DSP uniform, received encouragement and accolades from the Chief Minister. CM Yogi Adityanath said that the BJP government has always supported the “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” initiative and is committed to motivating athletes. “Today, Uttar Pradesh is proud of its daughters. Our daughters have achieved through passion, hard work, and unwavering dedication what once seemed a distant dream. This victory is not just for cricket, but for the entire nation,” he added.
Cabinet Minister Yogendra Upadhyay Boosts Morale
At Lok Bhavan, Minister Yogendra Upadhyay encouraged Dipti Sharma and congratulated her family, saying, “Dipti has brought fame to South Assembly Agra, Uttar Pradesh, and India on the world stage. We are proud of our city’s daughter, Dipti.”
The occasion was also attended by DGP Rajeev Krishna, Dipti Sharma’s father Bhagwan Sharma, Sumit Sharma, and other family members.
