Varanasi, Defending champions Kashi Rudras officially unveiled their Season 4 jersey on Friday, marking the beginning of their UPT20 League campaign with a blend of sporting ambition and the spiritual essence of Kashi. The franchise is aiming to script history by winning its third league title.

Inspired by the timeless heritage of Varanasi and the philosophy of Lord Shiva, the new jersey reflects the team’s identity and values. The blue colour symbolizes Lord Shiva’s calmness, composure and clarity under pressure, while the orange represents courage, energy and fearless intent. The cosmic detailing pays tribute to Lord Shiva as the Guru of the Universe, and the mandala pattern signifies balance, unity and collective strength.
Ahead of the jersey launch, captain Karan Sharma, head coach Dhruv Singh, UPCA Director Javed Akhtar, and team officials offered prayers at the revered Kashi Vishwanath Temple, seeking blessings for a successful season and reaffirming their connection with the spiritual city they proudly represent.
The squad later interacted with aspiring young cricketers during a special meet-and-greet session at Sigra Stadium. Captain Karan Sharma shared valuable insights from his cricketing journey, encouraging youngsters to remain disciplined, work hard and stay committed to their dreams.
In the evening, the team participated in the iconic Ganga Aarti, embracing one of Kashi’s most cherished traditions and strengthening its bond with the city’s rich cultural heritage.
Speaking at the launch, captain Karan Sharma said wearing the Kashi Rudras jersey is a matter of immense pride as it represents much more than a cricket team. “We represent a city with an extraordinary history, culture and spiritual significance. Our goal is to win another championship and give our fans a reason to celebrate again,” he said.
Head coach Dhruv Singh emphasized that the team’s success has always been built on discipline, preparation and the desire to keep improving. He expressed confidence that the squad has the talent and character to compete at the highest level while continuing to play fearless cricket.
At the UPT20 Player Auction held in Agra last week, Kashi Rudras strengthened their squad by signing Mohammad Sharim, Vaibhav Choudhary, Vijay Yadav, Virat Jaiswal, Manav Sindhu and Sahab Yuvraj Singh, completing an 18-member squad after retaining 12 players.
The franchise has also reinforced its commitment to grassroots cricket through the launch of the Rudras Cup, a regional scouting tournament aimed at identifying and nurturing emerging cricketing talent across Uttar Pradesh.
With a balanced squad, experienced leadership and the unwavering support of the people of Kashi, the defending champions are set to begin their Season 4 campaign with the ambition of adding another glorious chapter to their legacy.
