Agra: Delivering the Friday sermon at the Nehar Wali Masjid in Sikandra, Khateeb Muhammad Iqbal expressed deep sorrow over the recent Delhi bomb blast, stating that Islam strictly forbids the killing of any innocent person.
During his sermon, Muhammad Iqbal asked the worshippers a thought-provoking question:
“Can those responsible for saving lives ever take lives?”
He said that the innocent victims who lost their lives in the Delhi blast and their families are going through immense pain, and the entire Muslim community stands with them in their grief. Praying for the speedy recovery of the injured, he added that the horror of the explosion has shaken the entire nation, with body parts scattered far and wide at the site.
Issuing a clear statement, he said:
“No Muslim anywhere in the world can support such an act. We strongly condemn this attack and urge the government to expose the conspiracy and punish the real culprits.”
According to Muhammad Iqbal, the medical profession is based on respect, compassion, and humanity. Yet this incident attempts to defame a noble and sacred profession.
Clear Command of the Qur’an
Quoting Surah Al-Maidah, Verse 32, he said:
“Whoever kills an innocent person, it is as if he has killed all of humanity;
and whoever saves a single life, it is as if he has saved all of humanity.”
Muhammad Iqbal emphasized that Islam’s true message is to protect life, spread peace, and stand against oppression.
Anyone who goes against this teaching, he said, distances themselves from the Qur’an and becomes deserving of Allah’s wrath.
In conclusion, he warned that if those entrusted with protecting humanity begin taking lives, the world will turn into a jungle.
He asked:
“Those responsible for this painful tragedy—will they not stand before their Lord? Do they have any answer?”
