New Delhi: Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has officially released its Prospectus for the Academic Session 2026–27, marking a significant expansion in academic offerings with the introduction of 30 new programs and no fee hike across any course. Online admissions have commenced from today.
The 150-page prospectus was launched by Vice Chancellor Prof. Mazhar Asif, Registrar Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi, and Controller of Examinations Prof. Ahteshamul Haque, along with other senior university officials. The document provides detailed guidelines on eligibility criteria, application procedures, entrance examinations, admit cards, syllabi, test centres, fee structures, and tentative result timelines.
30 New Academic Programs Introduced
Controller of Examinations Prof. Haque announced that JMI has introduced 30 new programs in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. These include:
- B.A. (Hons) Japanese Studies (Self-Financed)
- B.A. (Hons) German Studies (Self-Financed)
- B.A. (Hons) Uzbek Language, Literature & Culture
- B.A. (Hons) Human Resource Management (Self-Financed)
- Advanced Diploma in Child Guidance and Counselling (RCI Approved, Self-Financed)
- M.Sc. (Biosciences), M.Sc. (Biotechnology), M.Sc. (Botany) (As per NEP)
- MA (Social Work), MA (HRM), MA (Sociology) (As per NEP)
- ITEP B.Sc B.Ed (Secondary) and ITEP B.A B.Ed (Secondary)
- M.Sc. (Renewable Energy) (Self-Financed)
- B.Tech. (Robotics & Artificial Intelligence) (Self-Financed)
- B.Tech. Civil Engineering (Construction Technology) (Self-Financed)
- B.E. (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering – Evening, Self-Financed)

No Fee Hike for 2026–27
In a major relief for students, JMI has not increased fees for any course in the upcoming academic session.
FYUP Admissions Under Multiple Entry Mode
In alignment with NEP 2020, admissions under the Multiple Entry Mode for Four-Year Undergraduate Programs (FYUP) will begin from this session, offering greater academic flexibility and mobility to students.
Expansion of Entrance Test Centres
To improve nationwide accessibility, JMI has expanded its entrance test centres to 11 cities. Newly added centres include:
- Jaipur
- Dehradun
- Kishanganj
Existing centres are located in Delhi, Lucknow, Guwahati, Patna, Kolkata, Srinagar, Calicut, and Bhopal.
Internationalization and Reduced Fees for Foreign Students
In line with the Government of India’s internationalization agenda, JMI has substantially reduced fees for foreign students under General and Supernumerary categories. A region-wise differential fee structure has been introduced for candidates from:
- SAARC countries
- West Asian countries
- African & Latin American countries
Leadership Statements
Vice Chancellor Prof. Mazhar Asif congratulated the Prospectus Committee and said:

Simplified Online Application System
For the 2026–27 session, admissions have been streamlined into four distinct categories, each with a dedicated online application link to simplify the process for applicants.
