Prayagraj: A powerful awareness session on “Organ Donation in India & Armed Forces Medical Services” was conducted at Military Hospital Prayagraj, emphasizing the urgent need for public participation in organ donation.

The highly interactive session was delivered by Col (Dr) Sudeep Prakash, Senior Advisor (Medicine) and Nephrologist at Command Hospital (CC). He highlighted the critical gap between the demand and availability of organs in India and addressed common myths surrounding organ donation.
Dr. Prakash stressed the importance of deceased organ donation and urged citizens to move beyond awareness and take meaningful action. He described organ donation as a social responsibility that has the power to save multiple lives.
Reinforcing his message, he stated,
“Don’t take your organs to heaven — heaven knows we need them here.”
The session inspired attendees to pledge for organ donation and encouraged them to actively contribute towards saving lives, making it clear that collective action is essential to bridge the gap and create a life-saving impact.
