A shocking development has emerged from Punjab, where popular Punjabi singer Gippy Grewal has allegedly received a death threat from notorious gangster Goldy Brar. The incident has sparked serious concerns regarding the law and order situation in the state.
Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal shared this information through a post on social media platform X. He claimed that the threat was issued shortly after the security cover provided to Gippy Grewal was withdrawn.
Badal also shared an audio clip along with his post, in which a person allegedly identifying himself as Goldy Brar can be heard issuing threats to the singer. Raising the issue with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Badal questioned the state’s security arrangements. In his statement, Badal said, “Disturbed to learn that our superstar Gippy Grewal received a threat from notorious gangster Goldy Brar, right after his security was withdrawn. No one seems safe in Punjab anymore, as law and order has completely collapsed.”
He further criticized the Chief Minister, referring to the past killing of noted Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, and alleged that withdrawal of security had played a role in that incident as well. Badal warned that if any harm comes to Gippy Grewal, the responsibility would lie directly with the state government. As of now, no official response has been issued by the Punjab government or police authorities regarding the matter. Meanwhile, the incident has heightened concerns over the safety of artists and citizens in the state.
