Agra: The Uttar Pradesh Government on Wednesday launched the Chief Minister’s Cashless Healthcare Scheme for Teachers at Rao Krishan Pal Singh Auditorium, RBS College, Khandari, Agra. The event also featured the live telecast of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurating the scheme and several other welfare initiatives from Deendayal Hastkala Sankul in Varanasi.
The programme was inaugurated by Women Welfare and Child Development Minister Baby Rani Maurya, Zila Panchayat Chairperson Dr. Manju Bhadauria, BJP District President Prashant Pauniya, District Magistrate Manish Bansal, and Chief Development Officer Pratibha Singh, who lit the ceremonial lamp before the idol of Goddess Saraswati. The ceremony began with Saraswati Vandana and a welcome performance.
During the event, the dignitaries presented Cashless Healthcare Certificates and mementoes to teachers and beneficiaries in recognition of their inclusion under the scheme.
Government Committed to Teachers’ Welfare
Addressing the gathering, Minister Baby Rani Maurya said the government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is committed to ensuring healthcare and social security for teachers, education department employees, and their dependents. She stated that several welfare initiatives have been introduced to strengthen the education system while safeguarding the interests of educators.
Describing teachers as the foundation of nation-building, she urged them to nurture a generation of disciplined, patriotic, and value-oriented students, drawing inspiration from Acharya Chanakya. According to her, such a generation will play a significant role in making India a global leader once again.
Focus on Practical Education and Moral Values
The Minister appealed to teachers to go beyond textbook learning by equipping students with practical knowledge, moral values, discipline, and life skills. She said quality education combined with character building is essential to prepare students for future challenges and meaningful contributions to society.
She added that while the government is providing comprehensive support and facilities to teachers, educators also have the responsibility of delivering excellence in education and helping students achieve greater success.
Healthcare Cover for 1.2 Million Teachers
Under the Chief Minister’s Cashless Healthcare Scheme, nearly 1.2 million teachers and their dependents across Uttar Pradesh will receive cashless medical treatment. The beneficiaries include teachers from basic and secondary schools, government and aided institutions, Sanskrit schools, self-financed and vocational institutions, special educators (CWSN), instructors, wardens and teachers of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas, full-time and part-time teachers, as well as cooks working under the PM Poshan Scheme.
Direct Benefit Transfer for 11 Million Students
The programme also highlighted that approximately 11 million students across the state will receive ₹1,200 each through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to purchase school uniforms, shoes, socks, sweaters, school bags, and stationery.
Social Security Initiative for Education Personnel
The state government has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the State Bank of India to strengthen the social security framework for nearly one million teachers and contractual education staff.
In addition, principals of schools selected at the national level under the Clean and Green School initiative were felicitated during the programme.
The event witnessed the participation of senior government officials, public representatives, teachers, education department personnel, and a large number of beneficiaries, who also watched the Chief Minister’s live address from Varanasi.
