Agra: A complaint has been filed against Nazia Elahi in the Court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate (Civil Judge Junior Division-2), Agra, on Friday over allegations of posting objectionable and derogatory remarks on social media concerning Islam and a Muslim religious figure. The complaint seeks registration of a case and legal action under Sections 196, 299, and 353(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 67 of the Information Technology (IT) Act.
The complaint was filed by Shabana Khandelwal, National President of Sashakt Peeli Sena, through Advocate Zahid Noori. According to the complaint, the alleged remarks circulated on social media have hurt the religious sentiments of the Muslim community and may create communal disharmony and disturb social harmony.
The complaint further states that on June 28, 2026, the complainant had submitted a written representation to the Police Commissioner, DCP City, and the Station House Officer of New Agra Police Station, requesting legal action. However, as no effective action was allegedly taken, the complainant approached the court seeking judicial intervention.
A large number of supporters, including Guddu Qureshi, Shanu Khan, Danish Khan, Seenu Khan, Sindi Qureshi, Manju Jain, Sajid Khan, Suleman Ahmad, Chaudhary Babua, Mukhtiyar Khan, and Haji Ameen, were present at the court premises during the filing of the complaint. They demanded a fair investigation and strict legal action against the accused in accordance with the law.
The complainants stated that alleged objectionable remarks against any religion or religious personality have the potential to disturb communal harmony and social peace. They urged the authorities to ensure impartial, prompt, and effective legal action in such matters.
