Fatehpur Sikri: A Kuls Sharif ceremony was held at the shrine of Hazrat Sheikh Salim Chishti in Fatehpur Sikri on the occasion of the 723rd Urs Mubarak of Hazrat Khwaja Nizamuddin Auliya (RA) of Delhi. A large number of devotees participated in the religious gathering and prayed for peace, harmony and prosperity in the country.
At around 10 am, Pirzada Saif Miyan Chishti, along with devotees, performed chadar poshi and gul poshi at the shrine. This was followed by Fatiha Khwani, Shijra Khwani and recitation of the Holy Quran. Langar was subsequently distributed among the devotees.
On the occasion, royal Qawwals presented salaam and Sufi devotional compositions in praise of Hazrat Khwaja Nizamuddin Auliya. The spiritual performance deeply moved the devotees, who participated with great devotion.
Hazrat Khwaja Syed Muhammad Nizamuddin Auliya, popularly known as Mehboob-e-Ilahi, is commemorated every year during the 17th, 18th and 19th of Rabi-ul-Aakhir, the fourth month of the Islamic calendar, at his shrine in Delhi. The Urs attracts devotees and renowned Qawwals, with special prayers offered for peace, harmony and brotherhood.
Following the same tradition, the Kuls Sharif ceremony is held every year at the shrine of Hazrat Sheikh Salim Chishti in Fatehpur Sikri.
Among those present on the occasion were Hafiz Alam Raza, Anwar Qureshi, Badruddin Qureshi, Aqib Hussain, Chand Bhai, Abdul Qadir, Mohammad Rafiq, Shanu, Faheem Bhai, Mustaqeem and Baba, along with other devotees.
