Agra, : Khateeb of Masjid Nahar Wali, Sikandra, Mohammad Iqbal, while addressing the Friday congregation, emphasized the importance of self-accountability and righteous living, stating that every action of a human being is being continuously monitored and recorded under the divine system established by Allah.
Speaking during the Friday sermon, he said that no moment of a person’s life remains beyond the sight of Allah and the supervision of His angels. He explained that on the Day of Judgment, the complete record of an individual’s life will be presented before them, leaving no room for denial of any deed committed during their lifetime.
Mohammad Iqbal noted that Muslims have long been taught about the Kiraman Katibeen, the angels assigned to record human deeds. However, he stressed that the work of angels and the power of Allah cannot be measured by worldly standards. Referring to Surah Qaf (50:18), he quoted the Qur’anic verse which states that every word uttered by a person is recorded by vigilant angels appointed for that purpose.
Expressing concern over the growing attachment to worldly affairs, he said that many people have become so engrossed in material pursuits that they fail to heed the guidance and reminders sent by Allah. He urged worshippers to reflect upon the reality of the Hereafter and reminded them of the terrifying events of the Day of Judgment described in Surah Al-Hajj (22:1-2), which mention the great earthquake and the severity of that Day.
He further stated that every individual will be held accountable for their actions and therefore should strive to shape their lives according to the teachings of Islam through righteous deeds, regular worship, moral conduct, and obedience to Allah.
Concluding the sermon, Mohammad Iqbal prayed that Allah Almighty grants everyone the ability to reform themselves, perform good deeds, and prepare sincerely for the Hereafter.
Ameen.
