Aligarh (S. Munir): A grand celebration of Eid-e-Ghadir was organized at Khanqah-e-Niazia in Syed Colony, Sir Syed Nagar, under the auspices of Al Niaz Education and Welfare Foundation. The event witnessed the participation of a large number of devotees and admirers of the Ahl al-Bayt.
Addressing the gathering, renowned spiritual leader and Pir-e-Tariqat Dr. Mohammad Abbas Niazi highlighted the historical, religious, and spiritual significance of Eid-e-Ghadir. He stated that Ghadir is not merely a historical event but an eternal manifesto of truth, leadership, justice, and Islamic unity that continues to guide humanity across generations.
Dr. Niazi explained that Ghadir-e-Khumm represents one of the most significant milestones in Islamic history, where the concepts of Prophethood and Wilayah converged. Referring to the Farewell Pilgrimage (Hajjat al-Wida), he said that on the command of Almighty Allah, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) publicly introduced Hazrat Ali ibn Abi Talib (AS) as the guide and leader of the Muslim community before a vast gathering of believers. On that occasion, the Prophet delivered the historic declaration:
“Man Kuntu Mawlahu Fa Aliyyun Mawlahu”
(“For whoever I am his master, Ali is his master.”)
He noted that the message of Ghadir transcends time and geography, serving as a universal lesson on righteous leadership, justice, piety, and moral responsibility. According to him, true leadership belongs to those who embody knowledge, integrity, wisdom, and devotion to God.
Dr. Niazi further observed that many of the challenges facing the Muslim world today—including disunity, sectarian divisions, moral decline, and intellectual instability—stem from a departure from the core values represented by Ghadir. He emphasized that a sincere understanding of Ghadir’s message could help address many of these challenges.
Explaining the concept of Wilayah, he said that it is not merely about political authority but about complete submission to the will of Allah. A person begins the journey of Wilayah by overcoming ego, greed, and selfish desires and by aligning personal conduct with divine guidance.
He described the life of Hazrat Ali Al-Murtaza (AS) as a shining example of justice, sacrifice, courage, and service to humanity, stating that he consistently prioritized truth over personal interests and justice over power.
During the program, participants presented poetic tributes in honor of Hazrat Ali (AS), creating an atmosphere filled with devotion and reverence. Speakers and attendees reflected upon the sacrifices, virtues, and contributions of the Ahl al-Bayt, while the gathering resonated with prayers and salutations.
The event concluded with Fateha and a collective prayer for peace, unity, and prosperity. A community meal (Langar) was also distributed among attendees, symbolizing Islamic brotherhood, equality, and compassion.
